Abstract
The article consides the problem of translating French colloquial words and idioms into Uzbek and Russian. When translating texts containing colloquial language, especially presented by phraseological expressions, the context, the author’s style in the original text, and a number of cultural factors are taken into account, as a result of the comparative analysis, four types of French colloquial expressions were revealed, and the reasons for the difficulty of their adequate translation were specified.
