This article examines the associative thinking abilities of young learners and their influence on psychological characteristics. Associative thinking refers to the process by which children comprehend and retain connections between various stimuli, facilitating the acquisition of new knowledge. The paper analyzes the cognitive development of children based on Piaget's theory, focusing on the changes in their thinking processes and the factors that influence the development of associative thinking. Drawing on Guttentag’s research, the study explores how associative thinking evolves through both automatic and goal-directed learning, and how these processes vary by age. The findings demonstrate the significant role of associative thinking in children’s intellectual and psychological development, as well as in their cognitive and emotional growth.
