Abstract

Translation used in any field of science should not only provide theoretical understanding to the reader but also be able to predict phenomena related to the researcher's interests. In our opinion, a feature with such a practical orientation, namely the ability to predict humorous text under certain conditions, will significantly improve the process of translating humor from the source text into the target language. Cognitive research conducted in our country and abroad encompasses a wide range of existential phenomena. The most accurate and detailed description of these phenomena is possible only due to the achievements of cognitive linguistics. Although language was previously considered a mirror of the world around us, today it is viewed as a means of penetrating into a person's spiritual world, their intellect, and the secrets of the thinking process. This shift in linguistics deserves great attention. When analyzing the translator's process of conveying the author's thoughts, their ability to understand the text, retain and utilize knowledge, as well as express ideas in a language comprehensible to others is studied. For instance, a translator's professional skill is not limited to knowledge of languages but also includes the ability to identify and solve problems arising during the translation process. The authors note that the processes associated with the practical activities of translators, like those of educators, are often based on hypotheses and assumptions.
