TOURISM AND ADVERTISING DISCOURSES: FUNCTIONAL AND PRAGMATIC APPROACH

Abstract

This article presents a comparative analysis of the linguistic and pragmatic characteristics of tourism and advertising discourses. Discourse studies occupy an essential place in modern linguistics, which is based on an interdisciplinary approach. The article highlights the similarities and differences between tourism and advertising discourses. Special attention is given to the informational and persuasive functions of tourism discourse, the description of real objects, and the dominance of cultural and historical aspects. In contrast, advertising discourse emphasizes emotional aspects, selective presentation of information, and personal values. This article aids in a deeper understanding of tourism and advertising discourses as linguistic phenomena.
