Abstract

In linguistics, paremiology stands out as a separate area of study. Proverbs  and sayings related to folklore are studied from different sides. The article semantically analyzes proverbs about cleanliness related to human health. A comparative study of the proper and figurative meanings of Uzbek and English proverbs about purity-cleanliness and their opposites-impurity will also be conducted.
