The Chartoksoy River flows through the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic and the
Namangan region. It originates from the Kashkasuv River, located on the slopes of Mount Bozbitov of the Chatkal Range, and continues within Uzbekistan under the name Chartoksoy River. In this study, the taxonomy of fish inhabiting the middle reaches of the river was scientifically examined for the first time. As a result of the research, 11 fish species belonging to 3 orders and 6 families were recorded in the Chartoksoy. Among them, Iskandaria kuschakewitschi, Schizothorax eurystomus, and Gobio lepidolaemus were identified as dominant species. In addition, the river is rich in acclimatized fish species, and during periods of heavy rainfall and mudflows, its waters can flow into the Syr Darya.
